You may remember that TfL introduced temporary speed restrictions on the A20 eastbound near Sidcup last year, while they were undertaking roadworks.
Sadly, hundreds of local people were wrongly fined as a result of inadequate and confusing signage, much of it at odds with sat nav systems. In one case, TfL admitted that an erroneous sign had been erected by a third party.
In some cases, people have lost their driving licenses for unknowingly accruing multiple fines on the same stretch of road during their daily commute. This is deeply unfair.
I along with my neighbouring MPs, Laura Trott (Sevenoaks) and Louie French (Old Bexley and Sidcup), have been urging the Mayor of London to reverse these fines, so far to no avail.
We need an investigation into the botched roadworks and Sadiq Khan should do the right thing and cancel these fines immediately. You can read our full letter to him below.
